Bernie the Dolphin 2
Bernie the Dolphin is a family adventure sequel about a brother and sister who encounter some trouble during their summer at Marineland. The film stars Kevin Sorbo, Patrick Muldoon, Dahlia Legault, Lola Sultan, Logan Allen and Tommi Rose.
The biggest challenge in sound design was to vocalize Bernie the dolphin and his pod. We first faced this challenge on Bernie The Dolphin 1, creating as many variations of dolphin speech that we could while remaining natural and authentic. In Bernie 2 there are just as many dolphins, plus Rascal, a new dolphin with a grumpy personality. Each dolphin's personality and emotions need to be portrayed, and the audience should be able to identify each dolphin by the sound of their voice. At the same time, they are not cartoons, they must sound real so that the audience believes what they're seeing. We were able to accomplish this and we're thrilled with the results.
