Our 2022 Year in Review
This year has been quite an adventure! We’ve experienced so much more growth compared to previous years, that we had to expand our facility and hire more staff. It’s been quite an exciting time for us!
We’ve also seen quite a shift in more requests for features coming out of the pandemic compared to last year. Many of these projects have been picked up by popular streaming services.
This year we completed 17 features, 10 documentaries, 13 shorts, 7 commercials, and 7 podcasts. We are continuing to work on a number of new projects slated for release in 2023.
Here are some of our most exciting highlights:
Emmy-nominated ‘In the Dark of the Valley’ streaming on Peacock
Last year we completed the sound mix on a very important documentary about the Santa Susana Field Laboratory nuclear accident, and how for decades it impacted a local community with cancer-causing hazardous waste and government cover-ups.
This year the film received a nomination for best "Outstanding Social Issue Documentary" at the 43rd Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards.

‘Brie’s Bake Off’ streaming on HBO Max
We completed sound on the charming family movie ‘Brie’s Bake Off Challenge’ back in 2020, and it was picked up by HBO Max this year. In this story, we follow Brie who is on a mission to win her school’s baking challenge. Her life gets caught up in a mix of things where her rival Vanessa does everything possible to keep her from winning the grand prize.

‘Unfinished’ and ‘Blackjack Christmas’ streaming on BET+
Earlier this year we wrapped sound on two entertaining features for BET network.
‘Unfinished’ is an exciting thriller about a struggling writer named Zora who is dealing with schizophrenia, and her attempt to solve the mystery of her father’s recent death. The line between fantasy and reality starts to blur as she attempts to discover what really happened while dealing with her illness.
‘Blackjack Christmas’ is a bittersweet story that follows two estranged sisters, Delores and Corrine, who reunite in Jamaica for the holidays and a birthday. But a secret gambling addiction opens old wounds and spoils their joyous reunion.
Official Industry Partner at the Santa Monica College Film Program
Earlier this year we became the official industry partner for audio at the Santa Monica College Film Program. We have worked with the program for more than 8 years providing post sound for many thesis projects, including 12 films completed together so far.
With our partnership, we will continue to provide professional audio support for SMC productions and job opportunities to students and graduates. We’re also developing ideas to expose students to the art of sound design and mixing for film through workshops and hands-on experience. We are thankful for the opportunity and look forward to the road ahead!
Featured at Cannes
In our continued support with the SMC Film program, we were excited to have three short films we worked on featured at Cannes 2022. The films included The War Within, The Attempt, and Broken Layers. We are honored to be a part of these projects, and are excited they received some well-deserved attention at one of the biggest film festivals in the world. Congratulations again to all of the filmmakers involved!
