Our 2023 Mid-Year Recap

This year has been a great time for us to reflect on our recent work, as we got to see (and hear) a number of films play in notable festivals in Los Angeles. We always try to make it out to support our clients whenever we can. Here are some of the festival highlights and cool projects featured so far this year.

Two Films Premiered at Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Two documentaries we worked on last year premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this year.

21 Miles in Malibu tells the story of the many tragic accidents and deaths that happen on the Pacific Coast Highway, follows personal lives impacted, and how advocating for regulation and change has been an uphill battle against the government.

Helen | Believe follows the story of gold-medalist Olympic wrestler Helen Maroulis, and her return to wrestling after dealing with a serious brain injury that led to a crippling anxiety disorder. The film is produced by Chris Pratt in association with Religion of Sports, co-founded by Tom Brady and Michael Strahan.

We Made it to Cannes Again

Last year we worked on a riveting short from the Santa Monica College Film Program that made it to Cannes 2023 as an Official Selection at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase.

Azizam takes place in Iran in 1970, and follows two college students from different social classes who discover each other when the country is close to a revolution.

Four Projects Screened at Dances With Films

Dances With Films is one of the biggest independent film festivals in Los Angeles. This year we had four films we recently did sound for - two features and two shorts!

Daddy follows the story of four men living in a dystopian society who have been granted government approval to be fathers. When they show up to a learning retreat, they find no guide or instructions. Left to their own devices, they have to prove they have what it takes.

Footnotes is the story of two neighbors, Will and Apurna, who develop a bond during the pandemic in 2020 Los Angeles. Just as their new friendship begins to turn into something deeper, Apurna decides to return back to her small New England hometown.

That’s Enough Now Thanks follows the story of an anxious young human who must struggle to navigate the intricacies of cellular communication when he accidentally destroys his phone.
