Our 2021 Year in Review

Looking back at this past year, we can’t help but reflect on how grateful we are for all of our clients. We’ve strengthened existing relationships, built many new ones, and continued to expand our international reach to work with filmmakers from all over the world. Words can’t express how much we appreciate all of the meaningful relationships we’ve been a part of this past year. We want to thank every one of our clients to the fullest extent.

Even with COVID still out there, we have noticed a lot of positive shifts in our industry, and the storytelling never stops. This year we’d like to celebrate our completion of 6 features, 10 documentaries, 13 shorts, along with 7 movie trailers and 17 commercials, as well as all of the new connections we’ve made with filmmakers.  We’re looking forward to sharing more news about these projects as they get released into 2022.

Here are a few other exciting highlights from 2021:

“In the Dark of the Valley” acquired by MSNBC

This past November a documentary we worked on “In the Dark of the Valley” was acquired by and aired on MSNBC. The story follows a group of mothers who are dealing with their children’s and community’s exposure to cancer-causing hazardous waste, possibly due to the Santa Susana Field Laboratory nuclear accident, and their fight against decades of government cover-up. We believe it’s a must see documentary and its debut on MSNBC is just the beginning. Enhanced Media would like to acknowledge Nicholas Mihm, Derek Smith, Brandon Smith, and all of the individuals and families involved in this fight.

“Every Day In Kaimuki” Sundance Official Selection

This feature film captures a glimpse of Hawaiian suburb lifestyle in a way you might not expect. It’s a story of a young man longing to do better for himself and branch outside of his home town, but leaving things behind is not so easy. We’re impressed by the humanity director Alika Tengan captured in his first feature. Congratulations to all of the filmmakers for the Sundance selection. Enhanced Media provided full post production sound and we are very grateful to have been a part of this film.

“Sweet Nothings” racks up more awards

This sci-fi / comedy short has been sweeping up awards at 2021 film festivals including Filmquest, Austin Spotlight, Burbank International, Atlanta Shortfest, Film Invasion, First Glance, Irvine International, and more. We’re happy to see Chirstian Klein, cast, and crew be awarded for their excellent work. Enhanced Media provided a final sound mix and we are very grateful to have been a part of this film.

Featured at NoHo Cinefest

We had the honor again this year of being a featured advertiser at NoHo Cinefest. This year the festival was back in person at the Laemmle Theater in North Hollywood CA. It ran from October 1 - 7, and our video spot could be seen in rotation before every screening. We’d also like to congratulate two short films we worked on, “Letter to God’ and “Instant Gratification”, for being selected to play at the festival.

More Studio Upgrades

This past year we made a few upgrades to our mix room. The room has a larger more comfortable space for our guests, acoustics were greatly improved, upgraded furniture and lighting, and an updated calibration by Dolby. We are continuing to make changes to expand our capabilities over the course of next year. We are also producing an immersive 360 video tour of our mix space, which will be available on our website in the coming months.

Happy New Year

We are excited to hit the ground running come 2022, as we have a number of big projects ready to start. We are very thankful for the opportunities and relationships we have built with our clients over the past year, and are excited to contribute to all these new stories being told.

We wish you a safe and prosperous new year!
